Thirty clear principles for building long-term financial strength, written plainly and without jargon. They cover the foundations of saving, the habit of ownership, the careful use of debt, the protection of what you build, and the long view that holds it all together.

Each rule explains what it means, the mistake it helps you avoid, and how to begin. Where the book states facts, it relies on official sources such as the Federal Reserve, the SEC and the IRS.

It promises no shortcuts. These are principles that work slowly, which is exactly why they are so often ignored.

Ten of the thirty rules inside

  1. Rule 2Pay Yourself FirstPay your future first, then live on what remains.
  2. Rule 5Never Depend on One IncomeBuild a second stream patiently, before you need it.
  3. Rule 7Buy Assets Before StatusLet ownership pay for luxury, never the other way round.
  4. Rule 9Make Your Money Work While You SleepPatient, diversified ownership, with your eyes open to risk.
  5. Rule 12Avoid Bad DebtHigh-interest debt is a claim on your future freedom.
  6. Rule 14Never Buy to ImpressBuild what is real, and let appearances follow.
  7. Rule 19Price Your Time ProperlyStop spending hours to save pennies.
  8. Rule 22Privacy Is a Form of PowerShare financial information by choice, not by habit.
  9. Rule 24Think in Decades, Not DaysMeasure progress in decades, and let the days be calm.
  10. Rule 30Wealth Is Ultimately About FreedomLuxury is optional. Freedom is the objective.

Twenty more rules inside, with all thirty gathered at the end of the book for quick reference.

Most people know what they should do with money. The harder question is why they so often don’t.

The Wealthy Mind goes beneath the rules, into the thinking that decides how money is spent, saved and risked: the pull of status and comparison, the cost of ego and approval, the quiet strength of self-control and attention, and the identity that makes discipline feel natural rather than forced.

It is a deeper, more reflective read, for anyone who wants their financial decisions to come from judgment rather than impulse.

Some of the topics inside

  • The Psychology of Enough
  • The Need to Look Rich
  • Your Ego Is Expensive
  • The Psychology of Delayed Gratification
  • Why Wealth Requires Boredom
  • Why Wealthy People Protect Their Attention
  • The Cost of Needing Approval
  • Why Saying No Builds Wealth
  • Money Cannot Fix a Weak Identity
  • Freedom Is the Final Status Symbol
